Trott-alicious!

After falling to brilliant piece of fielding effort from M. Katich in the first innings J. Trott made full use of the opportunity to make a name for himself in the histroy books with a century on debut and hand over Australia the dauting task of scoring more than 500 runs over the course of last two days of the fifth and final Ashes test.

Batting with confidence and style Trott made the Aussies sweat by making a 119 before falling pray to Clark. Many regarded this test to be remembered for being the last test of Freddie Flintoff but for me it should be remembered for Trott’s batting in both innings giving it more of a Trott-alicious flavor

A new season and a perfect start …

I know it’s a bit late to write this post about Arsenal’s new season heroics but still it’s never too late. The Gunners opened their account with a mesmerizing 6 – 1 victory at Everton and carried the form to become the first team in over 20 years to beat Celtic at their home ground in European football.

With a great new signing in the form of Vermaleen in the defence and most of the top players returning back from injuries the season is full of expectations and i have a firm believe they can do it this time around and get some silverware.

Arsenal Thinking Big

After hearing what i wanted to hear from the Arsenal camp a season ago they have finally managed it, “Adebayour is leaving”. Along with this the names that are linked in the transfer market that are Emirates Stadium bound are Lyon’s Karim Benzima and Bayern Munich’s Frank Ribery, both top priority of Manchester United and Real Madrid at the moment too.

While i think that Benzima might move to Emirates but clouds still hang over Ribery, other interesting name that is making news at the Emirates is Brazilian Ace Felipe Melo.

Although i wish that Ribery does not make it to Emirates but i want Karim Benzima to there because his left foot has a quality that i have yet to see in any French forward becuase of his uncanny ability of touch and long range shots which is what Arsenal requires at the front if they are to be any threat in the Barclays Premier League this coming season.

Standup for the Champians!

Atlast i can sleep today and with a great deal of satisfaction that my Pakistan cricket team has done what many people did not believe they would be able to achieve.

At the start of the T20 world cup the team totally looked out of sorts and lacked the team spirit but then some sensible leadership and the hunger for success and somewhat the conditions in Pakistan at the moment motivated them to a success that was last seen in the 50 over a side world cup in 1992 under the great Imran Khan.

Talking individually everyone played their part may it be Kamran Akmal, Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik, the young pace Muhammad Aamir or the veteran Abdur Razzaq, but for me the two stand out players were Shahid Afridi and Omer Gul.

This cup comes to Pakistan at a time the nation needed it the most and i’m glad that we have finally seen a ray of positive light after months of dark clouds of anger, anguish and idiotic mistakes of the past…

Pakistan march on to ICC T20 World Cup finals

After a miserable start to the ICC T20 World Cup in England, the green shirts have really pulled their socks and are just one match away from World Cup glory.

In the first semi-final Pakistan Beat the ever so impressing South Africa to confirm their “Chokers” lable and themselves move on to the final.

The Main architict of the victory was Shahid Khan Afridi who blew South Africa with the bat and the ball, with great death bowling from Umer Gul, Saeed Ajmal and a sensible over from young speedster Muhammad Aamir Pakistan prevailed The Proteas besides the heroics of Jacques Kallis.

With just one match to the cup glory i wish and pray this time the cup comes to Pakistan.

Kyun kai InshaAllah Yai Hamara Cup hai!

IPL Season 2: Final Chargers Vs Royal Challengers

The second season of the glitz and glamor of Indian Premier League is heading to a spectacular  showdown  amazingly between two of the bottom placed teams last season the Deccan Chargers and the Bangalore Royal Challengers.

The road to the final had been mixed for both the teams but pundits believe Challengers will have the upper hand because of the momentum they’ll be carrying into the final after winning 8 of the possible 10 matches before the final. On the other hand the Chargers one of the most exciting team this season will be resting on the Big Guns Gibbs, Gilchrist, Symonds  & Rohit sharma to fire them home to their first IPL title.

Afridi Assaults Oz at Dubai

The day Pakistan cricket got back into business after the Lahore Incident it was none other than BOOM BOOM AFRIDI who got his right game shoes on. He turned a match that was a start of many things in a memory that he would cherish certainly.

Australia Won the toss on a batting friendly wicket at the newly built Dubai Cricket Stadium which was holding its first One-Day international and had a sound start but could not muster the spin of Afridi and were out for a mere 168 in 38.5 over which Pakistani’s achieved with four wickets in hand and again with the bat Afridi had a quick fire innings rounding off a complete match performance for his team.

Gunners to face the Red Devils in Champians League Semi’s

Yestreday the final nail in the coffin of Villa Real was hit in by Van Persie with the third goal from the plenty after Wilcott was brought down and that gave them the ever green match against the Red Devils for the semi-final match in the Champians League.

It will be interesting to see both the team lock horns in the semi-finals, being a gunner i would be hooting for Arsenal but it does not mean i’m under estimating the Red Devils. Injuries had made the season start miserable and again it is haunting Gunners again but i hope that they would come out from that and put the Red Devils to sleep this season.

Gunners doing it again and in style!

Arsenal has been gaining momentum over the past few weeks in the Barclays Premier League which has enabled them to rise to the Champians League pot in the table and that showed again today with a 2- 0 win over Manchester City.

It was a return game for Adebayor along with Fabrigas who assited him with the first goal and was a great one too. Adebayor rounded up a perfect game with two good goals. The only downside was Walcott sitting on the bench at end of the game with an icebag on the knee but we’re keeping the fingers cross he is available for the Villa Real Game in the champians league.

Being a Gunner fan its awesome news that at last the ball slinging Gunners are back on track hail Winger!
