Are there any leaders out there …

September 1, 2010 Leave a comment

It’s hard to believe that just two years ago WE as a nation were making some steadfast progress economically, culturally and somehow at the sports front too but then the bubble of prosperity burst because we started walking a democratic route and it’s hard that we will be recovering any time soon.

The problem with that is we have a lot of problems at the moment and we don’t know which to address first, but if we single it out one, we will see out first and foremost problem that we need to look into is that of sincere leadership.

In the 63 years history of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, we have had a great deal of leaders at the hands of whom we have been cheated and lied to zillion of times at the name of democracy, prosperity and even religion but yet we never learn our lesson.

I for a simple fact can never understand that why on earth we have never seen loyal leaders, after the demise of the father of the nation one can think of two names who had the charisma of leading this nation to the great heights a general namely Ayub Khan and peoples’ choice Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto but I prefer the general over the later because of the work he put into the development for which we should be thankful to him it is not that the later did not play his part but I still prefer Ayub over him for a simple fact of giving us institutions of various forms and paradigms.
After the two there had been leaders out of whom some were stopovers and some were radicals who exploited the bare roots of religion.

Coming to the leaders of today General Pervaiz Musharaf by far was more practical than those who are helm today, apart from a few things that he did which were right but executed in wrong manner he was the one who steadied this country. One person that most of us have high hopes of bringing a positive change for good is Imran Khan but that day would in short can be defined as a hallucination beyond reality.

But the thing that is really bothering at the moment is that we are vulnerable to a lot of threats that urgently requires some solid and stern leadership to look into which range from economical issues to social issues and not to forget the current surge of militancy that has wrecked this country for the last couple of years and at the moment we don’t have someone who can inspire this nation.

Restoration of Judges: will anything change

March 23, 2009 Leave a comment

A constant question that has been lingering in my mind is that with the restoration of Chaudary Iftihar Hussain The  Cheif Justise of Pakistan along with  other judges that had been suspended,  will anything change or will it be the same old story that has been prevailing.

This has been thought provoking because people of Pakistan has already suffered alot due to barbaric rulers that have drank the blood of those very people whom had shown confidence in them that they would lead them on to the right path but that has merely been a dream.

After a great deal of struggle now the judges have been restored and i hope it would be a ray of light in this current stream of darkness because the people of Pakistan needs someone to stand up for them and their rights in the rightful manner.

Will Obama’s victory change anything?

November 5, 2008 Leave a comment

A political race that was followed through out the world came to an end with Barack Obama crossing the line well ahead of his opponent John McCain. Not long before he got the news Obama’s day turned from the elation of victory to the sobering confront of leading a nation worried about economic disaster, two unfinished wars in the form of (Afghanistan & Iraq) and global insecurity.

“The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep,” Were the words that Obama used when he turned attention towards the media.

His little experience on the national level did not stop him from smashing through racial barriers and easily defeated Republican John McCain to become the first African-American and America‘s 44th president. He is the first Democrat to receive more than 50 percent of the popular vote since Jimmy Carter in 1976.

Talking to a jammed crowd of around 125,000 people he spoke in a dignified manner, “It’s been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this date in this election at this defining moment, change has come to America,”

A journey that started for Obama 21 months ago and drew a record-shattering $700 million, Obama scored an Electoral College landslide that redrew America’s political map. He won states that reliably voted Republican in presidential elections, like Indiana and Virginia, which hadn’t supported the Democratic candidate in 44 years. Ohio and Florida, also went for Obama, as did Pennsylvania, which McCain had deemed crucial for his election hopes. Victory

Where is Pakistan heading economically and politically?

October 16, 2008 Leave a comment

Sixty-one years and still we are in a country that needs to find the right set of leaders, to stand on its own feet and to get the ailing economy to stand on some solid grounds. Looking back at the history we would find that very short span of time can be seen as prosperous period for this country with such diverse and blessed resources.

But the situation that is prevailing in the country at the moment, the falling value of rupee, the falling economy and the constant threat of extremism has even made the things more worst then ever and now a new thing is adding up in the shape of power shortage. Post MUSH administration things are going from bad to worst the prices and soaring to new heights, the inflation entered to double digits and the oil prices went bizarre even though they fell in the global markets sometime back.

Even with the coming of Zardari into power has not put any of these problems on hold but even made things more vulnerable. With the global market dip and the miserable falling of the world financial position we can not expect the things to change soon and can just wish that Pakistan can head to a safer position economically and politically.

And Zardari is the new President

September 7, 2008 1 comment

6th September, for long has been remembered as a day when Pakistan forces really repelled the evil intensions towards it but now in the wake of the new era it would be remembered as how Pakistan got it most controversial president Asif Ali Zardari.

I have used the word controversial because his past and his present turnover from being a nobody to Mr. 10 % to now the new president and the preacher of democracy not even has its loopholes but also it has its short comings. After being elected the first thing he said was that democracy has taken revenge but I would as him if it has taken its revenge then why is the judiciary and especially the CJ not been restored.

For me the restoration of CJ would be perfect and fitting revenge for the democracy and to the extend I know they will never be restored.

We as a nation has been struggling for great leaders after Quaid-e-Azam and his fellows and its now more than 60 years, I don’t see any hope of resurrection in the near future. I pray to God that this nation wakes up and takes things into their hand because I read somewhere,

“You don’t have to believe in your government to be a good Pakistani, you have to believe in your country”
