My interesting delimma

Most of my seniors used to complaint about the supervisors that were assigned to them when they were doing their final BBA research report and i among many used to laugh at them because i knew that they were god damn lazy people but now being in their shoes i know it was not only them but the major factor of their laziness were their supervisors as well 🙂

About a week ago i got a precious chance to show the research proposal i had been working on to my supervisor whom i thought would be of great help (oh how i wish that was true!) and he told me that he would go through it and give me a reply in a couple of hours but its been 168 hours i mean a whole week that i have been waiting for that life saving reply :(.

More over today was the last date of the submission of the proposals and you know what he never showed up and when we contacted Mr. President (in this case my supervisor :)) about it he calmy replied that i will come tomorrow 😦

Coke Studio: Getting better and better

Today was the second episode of the much talked about coke studio season 2 and it was up to the expectations from Josh’s Jaaney Do to Atif’s Kinara to Shafqat Ammant’s Ankhon Kai Sagar to Ali Zafar’s Dastan-e- Ishq but for me Toomba was the out right winner of the episode it was haunting to hear how everything about that song  gelled into a piece.

Coming to Ankhon kai sagar everything was perfect, vocals, music, feel of the song and not to forget the sarangi and tabla mix. On the other hand Ali Zafar caught everyone out of surprise again with his performance and strong vocals that showed every emotion of the poetry that he was singing.Atif’s Kinara was good but it didnot had any catch what so ever for me (sorry for that) and Josh was simply awesome with their Jaaney Doo which had a raw yet fresh feel to it.

But Toomba holds a very special position in the episode that was aired today which was totally dominated by the two cultural kalaam’s that were presented in it and shows the power of our folk music and its richness, i still am trying to forget the sound of the voilin and banjo on Toomba and those haunting vocals and fluet on Dastan-e-Ishq …

What else can i say Coke Studio does it again in a style of its own …

Arsenal Thinking Big

After hearing what i wanted to hear from the Arsenal camp a season ago they have finally managed it, “Adebayour is leaving”. Along with this the names that are linked in the transfer market that are Emirates Stadium bound are Lyon’s Karim Benzima and Bayern Munich’s Frank Ribery, both top priority of Manchester United and Real Madrid at the moment too.

While i think that Benzima might move to Emirates but clouds still hang over Ribery, other interesting name that is making news at the Emirates is Brazilian Ace Felipe Melo.

Although i wish that Ribery does not make it to Emirates but i want Karim Benzima to there because his left foot has a quality that i have yet to see in any French forward becuase of his uncanny ability of touch and long range shots which is what Arsenal requires at the front if they are to be any threat in the Barclays Premier League this coming season.

Coke Studio: Season 2 – Its Amazing

People in Pakistan have generally been on the low side of entertainment due to the prevailing conditions in the country but the out of the box thinking of creative people in Pakistan has yet again given a gem in the form on Coke Studio.

A brain child of Rohail Hayyat is making waves into the second season of its inception as most people have started to follow it now but as i had seen the first season too it has evolved in nature and made a bigger stride this time.

Especially the BTL advertising it has been doing through facebook is simply awesome, giving Behind The Scene (BTS) videos makes the coming performances all the more intriguing to watch out for.

The first episode saw some great performances from Atif (Jal Pari), Shafqat Amanat (Khamaj) & the duo of Zeb & Haniya (Paimona but the most standout performance for me was that of Noorie with Saieen Zahoor with the beautiful Aik Alif, for me it was more than a performance they gave a whole new dimension to the Kalaam and took the message in it to the next level and made it more powerful than ever before

After watching the BTS on ma facebook account if they are going to be what has been given in those BTS i am sure they will rock it & the ones i’d be waiting for are Ankhanon Kai Sagar (Shafqat) and Dastan-i-Ishq (Ali Zafar), i’m keeping my fingers crossed that they rock it.

In the mean time thumbs up for Coke Studio and Rohail.

Second chance …

Many would have read the post i had written about the professionalism ethics sometime back (if not just try reading it now), where i had in a very disappointing tone refered to how things are being manipulated by people so as to get to a certain position.

As today i was driving to my university for the submission of my research proposal i got the call from that same person again offering me a second time chance out of the box by saying you were the first one i thought of and you are perfect for it, i was like hahaha look at the odasity of the dude first he had me kicked and now want me to work with him again.

Standup for the Champians!

Atlast i can sleep today and with a great deal of satisfaction that my Pakistan cricket team has done what many people did not believe they would be able to achieve.

At the start of the T20 world cup the team totally looked out of sorts and lacked the team spirit but then some sensible leadership and the hunger for success and somewhat the conditions in Pakistan at the moment motivated them to a success that was last seen in the 50 over a side world cup in 1992 under the great Imran Khan.

Talking individually everyone played their part may it be Kamran Akmal, Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik, the young pace Muhammad Aamir or the veteran Abdur Razzaq, but for me the two stand out players were Shahid Afridi and Omer Gul.

This cup comes to Pakistan at a time the nation needed it the most and i’m glad that we have finally seen a ray of positive light after months of dark clouds of anger, anguish and idiotic mistakes of the past…

Pakistan march on to ICC T20 World Cup finals

After a miserable start to the ICC T20 World Cup in England, the green shirts have really pulled their socks and are just one match away from World Cup glory.

In the first semi-final Pakistan Beat the ever so impressing South Africa to confirm their “Chokers” lable and themselves move on to the final.

The Main architict of the victory was Shahid Khan Afridi who blew South Africa with the bat and the ball, with great death bowling from Umer Gul, Saeed Ajmal and a sensible over from young speedster Muhammad Aamir Pakistan prevailed The Proteas besides the heroics of Jacques Kallis.

With just one match to the cup glory i wish and pray this time the cup comes to Pakistan.

Kyun kai InshaAllah Yai Hamara Cup hai!

I don’t feel proud

Alot has been happening all around the country lately especially in Frontier part, the recent blast at PC or the firing one of the most sensitive area here in Peshawar has really changed the mind set of people here and they once a living and fun seeking crowd are now doing their best not to indulge in those fun seeking activities.

Alas its really shocking to be here in Peshawar as the situation has changed so dramatically and most of us knew that is was just a matter of time and it was slowly coming over …

The most affected among the crowd has been the young generation whoes most of recreation activities have been crubbed and now they most reside to the activities that they may find conventient for themselves and not wandering off here and there in search of them. It is really a sorry state to see my country, my homeland and my province in grave danger and that i can not do much about it and sit home watching situation worsten day by day … i don’t feel proud as a son of this motherland at the moment!
